It is both the “starting” and “end” point of your walk to the city , no matter the endless times you won’t be able to resist and decide to wander around one of the picturesque rambling streets that crosses it. The flow of people going up and down this famous street that takes its name from the “saint” of Greek literature , will draw your attention and in a few minutes you will find yourself being a part of it. The bulk of commercial activity is concentrated here as well as in the side streets on the left and the right , will strong brands and traditional products , souvenirs , gifts , relaxing spots for snacks , coffee , food and chilling out moments. Old port
The most romantic spot for a walk ,the old port extends from the entrance of Bourtzi until Plakes neighborhood. On one side , it is full of coffeehouses , bars and restaurants . On the side of the sea , dozens of boats are waiting to take people to their all-day excursions each morning , while , in the evening , they are sitting back as their captains are booking seats for the following day .
The cosmopolitan atmosphere is composed by people that come and go constantly and the uplifting music , which gets louder as we reach the steps (maxilares) , where the famous “cushions” are.
Bourtzi
Bourtzi is the reference point of every visitor. A small piece of land in the sea , full of pines trees , with panoramic view to the old and the new port , ideal for one or more romantic walks at its perimeter , especially at night . New port & Ammoudia
The new port is the starting point of the main road of the island. On its upper side , there are the coffeehouses and the restaurants full of satisfied customers , as you will find out and on its lower side , there are private yachts and the excursion boats. There is also the taxi station (tel. +30 24270 24461) , a bit further down the road there is the bus stop to Koukounaries . Continuing your walk , you will stumble upon the location Ammoudia , where there are many taverns by the sea , the old windmill and will reach the beginning point of the airport area. Impressive landings
It is Friday morning and the coastal road leading to the airport is unusually crowded. With video cameras in their hands and their eyes looking at the sky , tourists position themselves right at the front of the fence . It is the day when charter flights are full swing … Skiathos airport is small in length and narrow , something which forces the airplanes approaching the airport from the sea to almost touch the heads of this attraction’s fans . During the take off the gust of the exhausts is such that it can sweep you off your feet .
Daily cruise excursions
While you walk at the port, in the evening, you will be able to see the captains and the crew members of the excursion boats of Skiathos being on the alert. It is the time when the next day’s bookings for the full day sea excursions are made. The boats are departing each morning from 9.30 to 11.00 from the old as well as from the new port to Tsougria, Kastro Skopelos, the round of the Skiathos and for the most amazing beach name Lalaria.
Tsougrias a must among visitors , in an uninhabited , untouched island of exotic beauty.
Kastro is a must for everyone who comes to Skiathos , it is the most emblematic point on the island. Having the greatness of the Aegean sea view and swimming at the beach that is exactly underneath the Castle.
Lalaria, the perfectly round with pebbles lalaria, the wildness and the emblematic beauty of the landscape, the crystal clear sea are perfect reasons for everyone to visit Lalaria beach. You can reach it only through sea by the boat from the port of Skiathos.
BEACH

Agia Eleni (bus stop 25) is a beautiful , organized beach that we can approach by car , in case we don’t have one , we can walk up there from the bus stop. Water sports and mainly one of the most beautiful sunsets.
Megalos Aselinos is a big beach with crystal clear waters
Mandraki is a beautiful beach with canteen . Follow the dirt road from krifi ammos or choose to reach the beach by walking through a gorgeous pine forest with sandy soil , starting from Koukounaries
Mikros Aselinos, is a small exotic beach next to Megalos Aselinos. If you are already there you can walk to Mikros Aselinos, otherwise follow the road towards Panagia Eikonistra
